Is your professional license is up for renewal now?

You can find the license expiration date on your most recent wallet card. Renew your license before the expiration date to avoid a late fee or lapse in licensure. Start the renewal process early enough so you have time to receive assistance to resolve any difficulties you may encounter using the online system. You are encouraged to renew online using our secure website at

You can pay online securely using a MasterCard, VISA or Discover card.  Renewals submitted online are processed immediately and receipts are available 24/7.

You must have an account to use the online system. If you have already created an account, your account ID will appear below. Please use the account ID listed below to log into your licensure record. If you need help with your account please contact the Office of the Chief Information Officer at (515) 281-5703 or (800) 532-1174.

If you are unable to renew online, you may download a paper renewal application at the Professional Licensure web site: Iowa law requires that the renewal application be submitted to the board office 30 days prior to the license expiration date.

Continuing education hours required for license renewal must be completed prior to renewal of the license. Continuing education hours are not required for establishment license renewals (salon, barber shop, funeral home, crematory or a school).

Renewal wallet cards are printed in the board office Monday through Friday.  The cards will be printed and mailed within 3 – 5 working days after renewal. If you do not receive your wallet cards within 30 days after the date you submit your renewal application, please contact the board office using the contact information listed below.
